The large district town of Grossenhain is located north of the state capital Dresden. Grossenhain with its approximately 20.000 inhabitants is one of the oldest cities in the Free State of Saxony.

The historic city center still bears witness to the city's 800-year history. In the lovingly restored old town you will find a variety of specialty shops as well as numerous pubs and restaurants. At the latest since the 2002 State Horticultural Show was held, Grossenhain has described itself as a "friendly city in the countryside". The spacious parks and green areas of the core city, the Walda landscape park and the Zabeltitz baroque garden invite you to take idyllic walks. In the summer months, Saxony's largest nature adventure bath can be used for a wet cooling.

Conveniently located, the city of Dresden can be reached in just over 40 minutes by train or in three quarters of an hour by car.
