District of Bautzen

The county of Bautzen is the link between the cities in the region and the rural areas. With the large district towns of Bautzen, Bischofswerda, Kamenz, Hoyerswerda and Radeberg, it is the largest district in the Free State of Saxony in terms of area. The district covers the entire north-eastern part of the "Wachstumsregion Dresden" and is a central community compound for four of our cooperation partners.

The comparatively low real estate and property prices, good transport connections, as well as innovative and well-known companies from a wide variety of industries make the district an attractive place to live and work and, in addition to an exciting past, also ensure a sustainable future.

The landscape and culture of the upper Lusatia is an attractive attraction for tourists and offers its residents a varied range of leisure activities and a lively club life. Nowhere else in the world can you find such a diverse cultural landscape in such a small area: lake landscapes, lowlands, agricultural hills and low mountain ranges. There are also two nations at home in the district, the Germans and Sorbs. They all live, work and celebrate together in the region.
